Course Objective
To empower Ayurveda professionals and students to accurately understand, diagnose, and manage Allergic Rhinitis through a dual lens—modern immunology and the Ayurvedic doshic framework. Participants will gain confidence in using classical therapies, Panchakarma, and Vedamrita’s proprietary protocols for long-lasting relief.
Module 1: Modern Understanding of Allergic Rhinitis
- Types: Seasonal, Perennial, Occupational
- Immunopathology: IgE-mediated hypersensitivity, histamine release
- Common triggers: pollen, dust mites, pollution, food allergens
- Symptoms: nasal congestion, sneezing, itching, watery discharge, fatigue
Module 2: Ayurvedic Framework – Nasa Srava / Peenasa
- Reference from classical texts: Madhava Nidana, Charaka Samhita
- Dosha predominance: Vata–Kapha involvement
- Nidana (causes), Samprapti (pathogenesis), and Rogamarga (disease pathways)
- Correlation between weakened Ojas, Pranavaha Srotas, and allergic responses
Module 3: Diagnosis & Clinical Evaluation
- Modern diagnostics: skin prick test, serum IgE, eosinophil count
- Ayurvedic assessment: Nadi Pariksha, Prakriti evaluation, Mala-Mutra-Jihwa Pariksha
- Allergic Rhinitis grading and differential diagnosis from sinusitis, common cold
Module 4: Treatment Protocol by Vedamrita
- Shamana Chikitsa: Nasya, herbal nasal drops, decoctions (Dashamoola, Kantakari), Sitopaladi + honey
- Shodhana Chikitsa: Panchakarma therapies (Vamana in select cases, Nasya as primary modality)
- Rasayana herbs for respiratory immunity: Haridra, Tulsi, Guduchi, Yashtimadhu
- Diet regimen: Vata–Kapha pacifying Ahara, seasonal guidelines
