Course Objective
To equip Ayurveda practitioners, health coaches, and students with a holistic understanding of constipation (Vibandha), its physiological basis, root causes, and structured treatment through Ayurvedic therapies, dietetics, and lifestyle correction.
Module 1: Gastrointestinal Physiology & Function
- Overview of digestion: Agni, Apana Vata, and intestinal motility

Module 2: Causes & Aggravating Factors
- Primary and secondary causes in modern medicine (diet, hypothyroidism, IBS, medications)
- Ayurveda causes: Mandagni, Vata dushti, suppression of natural urges, Ratri Jagarana
- Chronic constipation and its link to Ama accumulation
Module 3: Ayurveda Perspective – Vibandha
- Vibandha in classical texts like Charaka Samhita
- Dosha involvement: Vata dominance with Apana Vata vitiation
- Samprapti (pathogenesis), Prakriti-based susceptibility, and Rogamarga
